Happy New Year guys!!
I just made a little collage with some memorable moments of 2013 for me
1. Waking up on the 1/1/2013 on the beach after spending the night camped out on Dee Why Beach (spontaneous trip) 2. Revisiting the Hunter Valley for the second time (after the first time the bf got hay fever and the trip was pretty much ruined) 3. FIJI! God I loved going to Fiji. I still see the clear waters in my dreams 4. A beautifully thoughtful gesture by my bf, a little easter egg hunt in our apartment for me 5. Wollongong - a sweet little get away 6. 2 Year Anniversary - We visited the Blue Mountains, Jenolan Caves and stayed in a sweet little cabin with a fire place 7. RICHARD GOT HIS FULL LICENSE! After 5 years of being on his green p's it happened! 8. The wonderful yet highly surprising news of my pregnancy 9. Tasmania - such an amazing place to visit

2013 has been a wonderful, hard working and surprising year for me. The best part of it was spending it with Richard who I couldn't possible live without and who makes every single day wonderful. Also to my friends and family who have been supportive of my extreme emotional mood swings with my pregnancy thank you! And all the best for everyone!

Pretty things

I bought some pretty things today!! Currently 6 months pregnant and walking around shopping centres pretty much is a no no for me. My need to pee all the time is slowly but surely making its way back. But it's sales time here so I had to go check things out. I got the lovely dress pictured from Tree of Life for just $44 (25% discount woohoo). I pretty much stopped buying clothes because one I'm so fat now and buying clothes makes me depressed and second maternity clothes is just plain boring or ugly. I have some festivities coming up in the next few months so I needed something else other than tights and a big shirt to wear. I want to look semi pretty at least! The dress from Life of Tree is pretty much perfect, pretty colour, great length and the material stretches out and back in so I can wear it as I get fatter and then as I hopefully lose all that weight I've gained :(. The earrings are from Diva 3 for 10 bucks! The two pairs in the fourth photo were bought from a little boutique store which I actually didn't look at the name whoops, though the lovely lady sold them to me for $15 each down from $30 each :) Altogether not a bad day!

Merry Christmas!!!

DIY Baby Shower invitations - part 2

/ /
I finally made and sent out my baby shower invitations! After much procrastination and sheer laziness I did it. I was a bit nervous but after receiving some lovely messages of people attending it's cleared away my fears and replaced them with some excitement. Although I'm a still bit nervous. I love parties except when I'm hosting them, I'm just always concerned that someone isn't having a good time. But blah moving on I thought I do a little post just showing what I used to make my invitations and what I did.

pictures listed are exactly the product I bought from OfficeWorks.

Firstly I used photoshop to create the invitations, pretty much looked around invitation websites to gather some ideas of how I wanted it to look and then used google to find images. But overall I just played around with photoshop to found what I liked (I'm not a pro at photoshop!) I didn't want the project to be expensive so I went to Officeworks (Australia) and bought the items pictured above

1. Self adhesive magnets - to stick on the back of the invitations so people could put them on fridges  (no muss no fuss!)
2. Prepaid envelopes - I don't really care about envelopes! Nobody keeps them anyways in my opinion. As they say its what on the inside that counts ;)
3. Paper - I decided to use my own printer to save on the cost so I just had to buy some paper. I didn't want it to be thin cause then it would just flop around everywhere so when looking for paper get something that is 200GSM in thickness, I thought anything lower than this just didn't have the desired effect I was looking for.

Other options would be to use a program that lets you make your own invitations (some are free some are not) and going to a photo shop or some place like it that will print out your invitations out on paper that photographs are printed out on.
Also feel free to get more crazy than I did with the design, you could always buy little decorations, stamps etc to pretty it up more (I prefer a clean and simple design) Each to their own!

How it came out!
(I decided on using a long size rather than a short one & also I ran out of magnets for this picture so I used another magnet to keep it in place just so you could get an idea of how it turned out!)

The Beach!

/ Friday, 13 December 2013 /
It's been bloody hot here in Sydney! Sooooo I thought I'd take my 2 year old niece & 1 year old nephew to the beach for the first time!

Clovelly Beach is a great beach to take kids to. There aren't any waves and there are heaps of other kids there too.

Baby Shower DIY Invitation

/ Friday, 6 December 2013 /

I've been getting really into DIY projects although I haven't attempted anything big yet EXCEPT making my own baby shower invitations! It was just a simple design I created in photoshop took about an hour. After looking around for invitations I just thought it was waaaaay to expensive to buy some when I could just make them myself and print them out. One dilemma I can't figure out which size I prefer yet ...

Short or long?

It's a boy!

I'm now officially 21 weeks along. I still feel like there's forever to come. <3<3<3

Happy Birthday Sammy!

/ Sunday, 24 November 2013 /

Parties are fun aren't they! Especially children parties or in this case 'young ladies birthday celebrations' My niece just turned 15! In South American cultures a girls 15 is an important reason to have a huge party to celebrate the girl becoming a woman.
My niece lives in Melbourne, so she flew down and had a little party with her family here in Sydney before she flies off to Uruguay for 7 weeks (lucky I know)
She looked beautiful and I hope she had an amazing time!

M.I.A

/ Tuesday, 8 October 2013 /
It's been ages since I've posted anything but I've had good reason which I don't think is quite ready to be told blog wise.

But some news I can share is that the bf and I moved out of our city apartment and back into my dads house in the inner west suburbs of Sydney (yay!) It's definitely been such a relief not to worry about paying rent anymore (although we are trying to get around to saving for our own place ... )

The one thing I hate about moving is the moving part, the packing, the organising, the unpacking (which hasn't really even been done yet still) and the emails/calls back and forth to the real estate agent to get everything into order. It's been tiring to say the least or an effing b*tch in other words.

Also the down grading from a whole place of your own to a single room is not so great, you definitely need to rethink storage, furniture and the overall layout of the room to accommodate not just one person but two!

So I thought I just start posting my ideas of how I like the room to turn out and how it actually comes together.

I'm absolutely inspired by Moroccan culture and it's vibrant use of colours. I'm thinking of having a room painted white and filled with vibrant colours and patterns to offset the blandness of the white. I definitely love the look of clean, coloured, unclutted rooms.

So far my main concern is a good paint colour luckily for me my brothers and dad are painters so I don't have to worry about doing any actual painting :)

Night x
